CASE STUDY — SELL SIDE

Sector: Technology
Industry: e-Commerce

Company

P&M Solutions, LLC dba DoMyOwn (“DoMyOwn”) is an online retailer and wholesale supplier of professional grade DIY products for pest control treatment, turf & ornamental care, animal care, and related equipment. With a digitally driven management team and approximately 70 employees passionate about customer service, DoMyOwn is the largest dedicated online retailer of professional-grade control products for do-it-yourself consumers.

Situation

DoMyOwn was founded in 2004 by Michael and Philip Gossling (“Owners”), who developed a world class e-Commerce business over 16 years and were pioneers in creating and greenfielding a market that did not previously exist. The company had generated strong growth, with sales increasing by a compound annual growth rate of 8.6% from 2015 through 2019 and gross margins increasing from 36.7% to 40.1%, however the company had reached an inflection point and was in need of a financial or strategic partner that could leverage the company’s proven technical capabilities, established market position, and strong relationships with its customers, distributors and product manufacturers. Furthermore, the Owners’ net worth was highly concentrated within the company, and a sale of the business would provide the Owners with liquidity for diversification and allow them to pursue their nonbusiness related interests.

Advisory Role

BCA was engaged by DoMyOwn as its exclusive financial advisor in its sale process. BCA ran a broad marketing process, which included strategic and financial buyers with interest and knowledge in pest control, lawn & garden and e-Commerce.

Result

Bravaldo Capital Advisors successfully obtained multiple competitive offers for the business and sold the company to a publicly traded strategic buyer.
