CASE STUDY — SELL SIDE

Sector: Construction and Engineering
Industry: Fiber and Cable Installation and Maintenance Services
QCFS
Has been acquired by:

Company

QCFS Management Group, Inc. (“QCFS” or the “Company”) provides aerial and underground fiber and cable installation and maintenance services for a variety of cable and telecommunication customers. Under long-term, territorially protected contracts with communications providers, the Company installs and maintains CATV, telephone and fiber networks. QCFS also has directional boring capabilities and installs underground electrical and gas lines, and water and sewer lines. Headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, the Company serves markets in the North, Central and Panhandle regions of Florida, as well as areas in southern Alabama and Mississippi.

Situation

QCFS was founded in 1987 by David Shehadi, and in 1992, David’s brother, Fred, joined the Company. After more than thirty years owning and operating the business, David and Fred (the “Owners”) recognized the Company was poised for accelerated growth and that a market opportunity existed for rapid expansion. However, to exploit these opportunities, the Company would need additional capital investment. The Owners were approaching retirement age, and rather than take on debt to fund major growth initiatives, the Owners sought a strategic or financial partner that could provide the requisite capital and resources.

Advisory Role

BCA was engaged by QCFS as its exclusive financial advisor in the sale process. BCA ran a broad sales process with a focus on financial and strategic buyers, including Southeast-based communications, electrical and utility contractors.

Result

Bravaldo Capital Advisors successfully sold QCFS to a Florida based contractor of cable installation, commercial low voltage projects, structured wiring, and underground utility construction.
