M&A ASSOCIATES – EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

BCA is looking for experienced, dedicated and highly capable merger and acquisitions (M&A) Associates to play an integral role in the firm's M&A and corporate finance advisory activities. This opportunity is open to candidates who possess a minimum of two to three years of investment banking experience, preferably with experience in M&A investment banking at a boutique or regional investment bank or M&A advisory firm.

M&A Associates are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are encouraged to handle a high level of responsibility on transaction teams, including building working relationships with client personnel and other outside transaction advisory professionals. They are also responsible for leading the writing and development of both the initial pitch material and post-client descriptive M&A memorandums.

Responsibilities include:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including valuation modeling, financial statement analysis, and scenario analysis to assess potential transaction opportunities.
  • Market Research: Perform industry and market research to identify potential targets and assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments.
  • Due Diligence: Manage due diligence processes, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and conduct thorough reviews of target companies to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Transaction Execution: Support senior bankers in all aspects of deal execution, including drafting marketing materials, preparing presentations, and facilitating negotiations with counterparties.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing strategic advice and guidance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and tax advisors, to ensure seamless execution of transactions.
  • Thought Leadership & Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to continuously enhance expertise and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership, including preparation of quarterly M&A update reports and white papers that are distributed to BCA mailing lists.

Desired Qualities & Experience:

  • Possess strong proficiency in financial modeling with keen analytical abilities.
  • Have a very strong work ethic, and excellent written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams and building strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
  • Minimum experience of 2-3 years of investment banking, preferably with a focus on M&A transactions.
