BCA is looking for experienced, dedicated and highly capable intern analysts to play an integral role in the firm's merger and acquisition (M&A) and corporate finance advisory activities throughout the calendar year. This opportunity is open to postgraduate level students enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master in Finance (MFin) degree program or other similar postgraduate degree programs. This is a part-time, in-office position offering flexible work hours and work attendance designed around the candidate’s class requirements and schedule. Candidates who possess prior business experience or who have accomplished significant internships in an analyst role are preferred.

Experienced analysts are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are encouraged to handle a high level of responsibility on transaction teams, leading the writing and development of both the initial pitch material and post-client descriptive M&A memorandums. They are also responsible for the preparation and integrity of the valuation analyses and merger and acquisition models.

Specific Tasks:

  • Gathering of information and performing business due diligence on prospective clients or target acquisitions.
  • Preparing “normalized” financial models utilizing historical and projected financial information and participating in the analysis of variances and fluctuations, explaining major changes, and identifying key value drivers.
  • Conducting valuation analysis of private companies and business units including precedent transaction and comparable guideline public company methods, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Leveraged Buy Out (LBO) analyses and approaches to valuation.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and explaining historical and projected financial information including modeling analysis.
  • Research and development of target buyer lists utilizing various databases to create target marketing campaigns that match with sell-side client buyer criteria.
  • Preparation of quarterly M&A update reports and white papers that are distributed to BCA mailing lists.

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:

  • Postgraduate level enrollment in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master in Finance (MFin) degree program or other similar postgraduate degree program.
  • Prior business experience or significant internships in an analyst role are preferred.
  • Have advanced knowledge of the principles of finance, accounting, and economics.
  • Possess advanced proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent written communication skills, and analytical abilities.
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed.
  • Have a very strong work ethic, possess superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Have strong attention to detail and time management skills.
