BCA is looking for dedicated and highly capable summer Intern Analysts to play an integral role in the firm's merger and acquisition (M&A) and corporate finance advisory activities. This is an in-office position available to rising Senior undergraduate students and offers exposure to the M&A and corporate finance advisory industry for private companies. Candidates who possess prior business experience or who have accomplished internships in an analyst role are preferred.

Summer analysts are expected to be active contributors during various phases of the deal process and are expected to support our transaction teams. They will assist with the writing and development of both the initial pitch material and post-client descriptive M&A memorandums. They will also assist in the preparation of the valuation analyses and merger and acquisition models.

Specific Tasks:

  • Participating in the gathering of information and performing business due diligence on prospective clients or target acquisitions.
  • Preparing “normalized” financial models utilizing historical and projected financial information and
    participating in the analysis of variances and fluctuations, explaining major changes, and identifying key value drivers.
  • Conducting limited valuation analysis of private companies and business units, focusing primarily on
    precedent transactions and comparable guideline public company analyses and approaches to valuation.
  • Assisting with the preparation of confidential memorandums, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations.
  • Research and development of target acquisition lists utilizing various databases to create target marketing campaigns that match with buy side client acquisition criteria.
  • Assisting BCA with various internal research and process improvement tasks, including drafting of
    quarterly M&A update reports and white papers that are distributed to BCA mailing lists as well as
    periodic BCA database management and cleanup projects.

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:

  • Rising Seniors in various undergraduate studies preferably with majors in finance, accounting, or
  • Prior business experience or significant internships in an analyst role are preferred but are not required.
  • Possess knowledge of the principles of finance, accounting, and economics.
  • Possess basic proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills and analytical abilities.
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed.
  • Have a very strong work ethic, possess superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Have strong attention to detail and time management skills.
